CIO Hates Presenting

SITUATION:
A recently-appointed CIO was put in a position of presenting to the entire company 4-5 times each year.  He was relatively young compared to the former CIO, so the leadership team (and the company) was watching him closely.  The CIO hated presenting.

APPROACH:
Anne worked with him on several presentations, helping him change his mindset toward presenting, channel his nervous energy, and bring some humor and personality to what could be dry presentations.

VALUE DELIVERED:
The CIO has learned to keep his nerves in check, grown as a public speaker and, more importantly, is now seen as a strong, confident presenter and leader in the company.  He later told Anne:  “A member of the executive committee came up to me after a recent presentation and said that he could tell that I was doing a great job in my new role.  Honestly, he has no idea what my day-to-day work is like, but he made an evaluation of my abilities and job performance based on my presentation skills.”
